Bicknell’s Thrush Use of Commercial Forests in MaineThis collaborative project focuses on understanding the use and availability of breeding habitat for Bicknell’s Thrush on commercial forestlands in western Maine. We will identify where thrushes are occurring outside of traditional mountaintop areas and where found, we will evaluate patch size and structural characteristics of the forest from a management history context to explain their use. Importantly, we will identify recent commercial forest management practices producing occupied Bicknell’s Thrush breeding habitat.
